Apple has removed this feature which is unfortunate since it was quite useful. I setup a calendar reminder every few weeks which works OK but a low batt reminder would be much better. I believe there are 3rd party apps you can buy to do this.

Since I got in trouble with a laptop (several years ago) that showed 10% left and subsequently died
before I could put the right plug in the right socket, I check all mice (mouses?) and keyboards every week.

I have 14.2.1 on a M1 Max and still receive low battery alerts from my magic keyboard. I received one just last week.

So maybe it's M2, M3 or another bug in Sonoma for some users and configurations like me then.

No they haven't. I had one yesterday for my trackpad and last week for the keyboard.
There must be a bluetooth setting for this in the system settings, but I can't find it.
What I found is years of arguing about the item in several fora, to no avail ...

This thread looks like it stopped in February. Anyone have any new updates?
I have a new Macbook Pro and having the same problem not getting a warning for keyboard or trackpad.
The only way you know is when one of them just stops working because the battery is at 0%.

Nothing new, 14.5 does not have any option concerned.
Hope for 15.0?

Where do you see your warnings? I just added Bluetooth to my menu bar and I can now click on the icon and check there, but still trying to figure out how to get it to warn me.

It looks like a Banner Kind Alert. It's always when it's 2% left. Same thing on my iMac M3 Apple Trackpad and Keyboard.

There should be a battery or even a Bluetooth Notification but there isn't one. Even on older systems.
We could ask for it .....

Assuming you have notifications turned on, you should see a banner type notification on your desktop when TrackPad or Keyboard reaches 2% charge. It has been this way since at least Mohave.
