Low-end now better than yesterdays Mid-ranged MBP?

About a month ago I purchased the mid-ranged MBP. I picked the mid-ranged over the low end one for two reasons: first and foremost it had a better video "card" or at least more video memory, and the system had 2 gb of ram instead of 1. I am a gamer and video editor so video memory and memory in general are important to me. After 14 days of use I realized I just spent $2500 on something that I didn't really need (it was my 3rd computer), so I returned it, knowing that I would get another MBP sooner or later.

Well, it may be sooner...
With the new nvidia GPU and 2gbs of ram on the low end model I am thinking of getting another MBP.
Is the new low end MacBook Pro better than the mid-ranged MBP I owned a few weeks ago?

Still pretty steep price to pay though. What makes you think it might be worth it now if you didn't need the hardware before?

You make a good point. I talked myself into getting it partially because I wanted to play LOTRO on vista (via bootcamp) with a faster computer than my old M6809 emachine notebook, but that didn't prove to be a ridicules increase in performance, certainly not one that would justify a couple grand.
I guess I am just being seduced by the fact that it is brand new, and a better deal.

I would say it is, cpu might only be like 10% faster, graphics might only be like 30-40% faster or so, and it only has 128MB vram instead, the machine can hold 4GB ram instead of 3GB.

So it depends, but I'd rather take the new one than the old mid range one, althought very similair.

But if you don't need another computer you don't.
