I'm no expert, so I probably got most of these wrong, if not all. lol.
In good light with no chosen focus point it may be hard to tell them apart. Although i'd vote the images which look obviously sharp as the Canon. Never ever ever will a phone match a DSLR quality in anything but a fixed focus good light shot. Even then i at least would rather have my DSLR if the shot is important.
That minuscule sensors lose out in low light, with zoom and bokeh. Ohh and control.
DSLR's just knock it out of the park every time in the right hands. Phones are multitaskers. DSLR's are a tool for one job.
Yours, a Nikon shooter.
Edit, i'll say the bottom shot in every case is the DSLR. If i'm wrong... i'll eat a lense.
Typically, the DSLR gets credited with the shallow depth of field effects (which, by the way, you can control to get the effect you want) . But the Canon doesn't have a very fast lens attached, and the Samsung has a f1.9 lens, albeit with a pitifully sized sensor.
Blimey! The Galaxy photos are close to the full blown camera photos! They look really nice.
Am I ever split between the Note 5 and new Nexus 5, think I need to write down what I want and the pros and cons of each.
I just need to know how good the new Nexus camera is, and that it has wireless charging.
doh!!! subsequently see this has been answered .... at least I was right
Other than the miss focusing on the rose for the Moto G - it's actually doing well for a $160 smartphone in fairness to it. Yes the others are better - but the G isn't lagging miles and miles behind. It's very serviceable.
Out of interest, how were you using the DSLR? Auto or some other semi-manual control (P, Av, Tv), format (Jpeg, RAW), other settings (picture styles, noise reduction, etc.)
Even a low end Canon DSLR with kit lens should take noticeably better shots than the very best camera phone available if set-up and used correctly
