Apple needs lower prices! i want a macbook pro, but its so expensive. im torn. For the price of the macbook pro with the upgrades i need, i could get a FULLY loaded 20" iMac with 2Ghz intel Core Duo processor. decisions decisions. i would definitely use the notebook for the portabilitybecasue i go back and forth between houses every few days. However, the power that even a lower imac would provide would be great for my image editing, itunes collection, and web surfing. I also like the larger screen for doing projects in word. please give your opinion! base Macbook pro, or upgraded iMac?

I vote MacBook Pro

I got my macbook a few weeks ago. I'm truly amazed at its power. I intend on using Pro Tools in May, and forsee no issues. Get your hands on one, and you'll need no second opionion.

- Maybe hold out for next revision, or faster, bigger Pro.
 
I always go for laptops. However, I don't do anything computer-intensive so I don't need the power of a desktop. I'm on the road alot too so being able to take it with me is nice.
 
macbookpros kick a@@, chicks dig them, they love playing with the built in isight and stuff, the screen is gorgeous

As am I. I was showing my brother WOW which was running just as fast as it normally does. But when I closed it I was like "oh i didnt realize i was still running dashboard, ms word, transmission, deerpark/firefox, itunes and ichat."

Good to know. I will taking mine out in public for the first time tom. to get out of the house. Ands it at this this large shopping place populated by many young women.

Thanks for the replies already! i have been asking some of my friends as well and im just about 100 percent sure im getting one as soon as i can set some more money aside! (should only be a month or so). :)
