for some reason LR can’t remember where those folders are. The file structure may have changed slightly during the upgrade. Just right click on each top level folder and navigate to the computer correct location to reassociate the folder.

Although to be honest unless you have photos stored in those folders LR does not need to see the application folder showing in library.

found the folder for the top one but the second one is missing
When my iMac returns from service, I'm going to reformat the MBP and start over

Before you get too far: At the risk of my missing something, those folders in Lightroom are pointing to Applications resident folders. They do not contain images. If they do, they should not. Nor should they be in Lightroom's catalog.

Using Finder, go to Applications and see what's in those folders. Mine contain nothing but the app and an uninstall shortcut. From what little I know of your system, I think you can safely “Remove” those folders from within Lightroom. You should not get a dialog box to “Delete from Disk”. If you do, you want to select “Remove from Lightroom”.
