Sometimes scrolling too much can cause a burning sensation in the finger tips.. Has anyone tried lubricating the iPad screen with some oil to make the screen smoother and more responsive?

What kind of oil would you recommend and what amount?

Bad idea. Ever see the streaks from your fingerprints on the screen? Oil will be the same, but 50x worse.

That's like using lubrication during sex. It's fun during, but after, you have to take a shower or it won't come off.

Oil contains minerals and chemical compounds which can cause damage to your screen.

I just wipe mine with a damp anti static cloth. Scrolling restored to smoothness without the need to resort to anything drastic.

Some here recommend Iclear, but I can't vouch for it..... Haven't tried it.

Pennzoil works good for me. Sometimes I squirt some KY Jelly on it.

In all honesty, this would probably be bad in the long run. The olophobic (SP??) coating would surely come off.

I am trying to picture how madly you who have to be scrolling to have your figure tips to get hot!

Regardless, lubricating the screen is not advised and maybe we need to look at how we are using the iPad.

I've never had or heard of this problem.

Drink more water and use lotion on your hands so the skin isn't so dry and raw. Or worst case, use a stylus.

Surely you can't be serious. A burning sensation on your fingertips from scrolling? What the hell are you looking at that you have to scroll that intensely?

Not lubrication. It's actually cleanness of the iPad.

When the screen is clean it's smoother. When it's full of junk on it it's more sticky.

Actually oil from your finger tips is what smoothens it.

OP: I highly recommend 1-2 litres of cooking oil added in 500 ml volumes throughout the day

Well, that burning sensation is not really in your finger tips. Get off the sofa and go to the bathroom.

Some non-touch optimized games such as dual stick shooters require constant movement of finger on display.

Ah, looks like none of you have discovered the amazing VTT HD (Virtual Table Tennis HD), otherwise you would be able to sympathise with the OP…

Still wouldn't dare putting lube on my iPad though!
