That download link is dead. You might actually try it before dishing out sarcasm.
PS- What is this Lucisart Plugin? It sounds interesting, but I've never heard of it.
I'm not going to do everything for them, it was more to show that other sites do have it for download as well, I have no interest in the software as I have no need for it. It's also readily available via rapidshare (no links as this could possibly be warez)

Just to clarify, LucisArt (the older plug-in) has been discontinued, but there is a new version of the plug-in called Lucis Pro 6.0 coming out in August.
It's not aimed at the home user/Rapidshare crowd, but rather to working pros (portrait and wedding studios and fine artists).

anyone thought of splitting the cost with a friend in your city?
It's 595$. I mean i want to get a business going and this plug in will be so sick. I cant imagine paying that yet. however splitting it with a friend interested would drop the cost nicely...if a few people were intersted it would be even better.
from the sounds its shipped to you and then a code emailed.
you could then load it to your desktop and laptop to use on diff computers.
so i would assume its usable like that if you split on it with someone else.

nuwomb, that's an interesting approach but I don't think it will work in practical terms (whether we're talking about Lucis Pro or any other plug-in/application).
First, what you propose is not a standard approach to software licensing, whether cheap or expensive.
Second, Lucis Pro will be protected by a USB dongle to fight the rampant pirating that the earlier version experienced. (The good news is that it will work on Windows XP, Vista and Intel Macs, so you can switch platforms and computers as you need to by reinstalling the software and plugging in the dongle.)
At best I suppose you can share the cost with someone who will be using a computer in the same location as yours, but obviously not at the same time. But one of you would have to be the official owner for registration purposes.
Remember, if you want to use Lucis Pro for business, you can write it off! And don't forget there's a decent discount available.

I should add you might look into the new and very inexpensive Topaz Adjust, which does a pretty good Lucis Art imitation for about 1/15 of the price (until 8/1).
You could always write it off as a business expense. It won't make up for the large change required upfront, but it would certainly help.

LucisArt 2 is OK on the Windows side (Vista and CS3); LucisArt 3 will add Mac Intel/native CS3 compatibility.

Turns out the old LucisArt 2 will be around at least until the end of this month.
The latest development regarding LucisArt 3 (planned for late September) is that there will be two different versions (Enhance Detail and Special Effects).

Sorry for the major bump, but they recently took the mac software off their site. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of lucisarts for mac? Any help is very much appreciated.
That party is long over. You'd be happy with a much cheaper, more capable and actively developed solution such as Topaz Adjust. Even if you found a Mac copy of LA, because it is no longer developed it is not guaranteed to be compatible with future OS-X updates.
Ah shoot, that's too bad, I was trying to apply a similar look as Dave Hill, Tim Tadder effects to my photos.
