Noticed Microsoft announced these phones. Wondering if anyone knows when they will be released. Curious how much they will go for. Waiting to see what the Microsoft replacement of the Lumia 635 is.

I'm really looking forward to the 640. I'm wondering why the XL didn't get LTE when the 640 did? I'm more interested in the XL at this point but the lack of LTE is a bit concerning.

What does the 640 have that the prior models don't? I think the Lumia line up is getting rather crowded. The current selection seem to use the same chipset (though some are dual cores, others quad cores).

How does this differ from the 830?

Cheaper than 830
Better screen and camera than other mid/low windows 8.1 devices

From what i recall, it fixes the major downsides of the 635. It doubles the RAM, has a front-facing camera and has a significantly better screen.

Lumia 640 is awesome and fixes the shortcomings of 635.

Still though, I'd hold out till 645 with Snapdragon 410 and with Windows 10 from the factory.

Why are they sticking with outdated chips for these devices? They could at least put an SD615 in there.

I think they're waiting for win10 to roll out the flagship models which should have current chipsets. I agree, they're not really rolling out an phone that is much different then prior models.
