Anyone here thinking about a Windows phone?:eek:o_O:p

I think about it, just as I think about what it's like to be in a high-speed police chase. Interesting to consider, but not something I'd intend to do. I'm stuck in Apple's ecosystem unfortunately.

I hear you. As for myself, i'm not stuck anywhere. I started with Android, went to Blackberry, drifted over to iPhone, and have been with Android for a few years now. I started thinking about Windows, when i first partitioned my MacBook Pro, as i needed Windows to root my Android phones. I checked out some Windows phones at my local MS store, and did some reading about the new Windows 10 phones that are coming out. People i've spoken to, say that the lack of apps is a deal breaker, and they're right, for now. I've heard that new Android apps will be flooding the Windows app store with the advent of Windows 10. Right now, there are enough apps from Windows, to satisfy me, and i really like what i'm reading about the Lumia 950XL, which should be out before the new year. Unlike Blackberry, i believe that Windows will survive, and even have a resurgence in 2016. Just my two cents here.:p

Sure is a pretty phone, and so is Windows 10 Mobile. But the lack of apps will forever be a dealbreaker. But it's slowly going in the right direction.

The only thing stopping me getting a Windows phone is the lack of a top end device. If the XL has a stylus in it like the Note range I will be getting it for sure. If it doesn't then I will get the smaller 950

I love my Windows phones but they are behind in camera quality now although the camera on my 1520 can hold its own against much newer phones but dam it is big.

BTW I'm not a massive apps person and everything I need is in their App Store.

The MS app store has enough goodies for me too. That Lumia 950 XL is 5.7" in height. The LG G3, that i've been using as my daily driver, is 5.5" in height. Width is about the same, but the Lumia is a little heavier. I actually like the solid feel of a heavier phone. I don't believe that it will come with a stylus. I don't use them, but you could always buy one. It wouldn't be a "deal breaker" for me.:p

Lets hope all that talk of getting iOS and Android apps on Windows was true and is coming soon. Between continuum and if they implement getting other OS apps on there this is going to be a sick phone. I'm kind of hovering a bit until I see what materializes.

From what I remember reading, it won't come with a stylus. However, it will work with the Surface Pro Pen. But, you won't be able to put it in a silo.

When they have a sleek all metal design (as long as it doesn't look like the HTCs/Samsung S6) or a glass/metal design then I would buy. Nokia devices always looked cheap. MS need to move away from such designs especially as they can produce quality hardware.

Metal isn't all that it's cracked up to be. I've seen some metal phones with dings and dimples in them, and they're there to stay. Poly carbon fiber would be my choice. If it's good enough for my Corvette, it's good enough for me.:p

I'm fortunate in that there is a Microsoft Store in the mall a few blocks from where I work. I definitely plan on checking out the Lumia 950 and 950XL when they are released.

However, I just recently learned that Microsoft is working on an Intel-based Surface Phone. From the leaked images I've seen it looks very nice. And I do believe it is metal.

If the price and features are right I may pick up a Lumia 950 and then re-assess if and when the Surface Phone is released.

I've been reading and playing around with Windows 10 and the more I do of each the more impressed I become with it. It seems that Apple has finally broken Microsoft out of their Hubris and Microsoft has realized that will need to start really innovating if they don't want to suffer the same fate as many other Tech giants like Blackberr/RIM, Nokia, AOL, IBM and Motorola. All now shadows of their former selves.

I'm also very much looking forward to seeing what the Surface Pro 4 holds.

Ugh, that plastic look is terrible on phones, I wish they would dump the Nokia kiddie look. I also had a corvette, bought it new off the line, sold it pretty quickly though and went back German. =)
