So it's not exactly the right time of year for these types of things, but I was going through some old photo CDs and came across some pics I thought I'd share. I'd wait till Christmas, but chances are I'd forget to post then. 
In any case, every Christmas Eve the street my parents live on turns off the street lights and every house puts out luminarias (luminaries, or whatever you'd like to call them). You can then walk around the whole street and enjoy the warm glow of the candles in front of all the houses. It's really a cool site!
For the past five years (except for last year), my family has done ice luminarias. My older sister got the idea from a magazine she read. The ice gives a nice reflection to the light from the candle and it's really cool to see the whole fire and ice contrast. Here are some pics we took from one of the years we did it.
