I have a big problem with a Lumix DMC-FX8. The screen is very very dark, you can't see anything on it in normal light. Only when you put it under a strong light are you able to see the screen. The camera itself functions fine its just the display thats the problem. Its my mom's camera and this happened about 2 years ago and I still havent figured out how to fix it. Also I tried resetting it and it didnt work.

Is this a hardware problem or is it just a setting you need to change?

Thanks,
Quick reply appreciated

Don't bump your thread. It is likely the display is shot. You can take it in but since it happened 2 years ago it's also likely it's no longer under warranty.

Sounds like the backlight on the LCD has gone. As such, only way to repair it would be to send it back to Panasonic for them to do.
