Anybody pre-ordered or looking at the Lytro Illum? It's an interesting concept and the gallery is impressive.

Nice glass as well 30-250 f2 right through!

Any 1st hand comments on the 1st generation?

I think this might work for some sports or action photography. You don't have the nail the focus when you shoot. You can focus later when you have more time.

You also might be able to get VERY deep depth of field. Great for macro shots.

The technology would be great for video. you could pull focus in post.

The living pictures / holography from the commercials look interesting.
However i couldn't find any app that would let me look at them on my ipad.
The Lytro app is not impressive at all.
