I originally thought this was only on Safari. I was wrong. It happens with every browser I have tried and ONLY on Facebook. Screen Stuttering when scrolling.

So I tried an 11” M1 IPad Pro - exact same thing.

‘Anyone else have this to happen?

Hmm…promotion is not disables. It hasn’t done this on any other browser or app. Dang. And I just realized I was only using Safari for Facebook as brave had problems with messages composition. it may be a Facebook problem. I need to experiment more.

Yeah…it actually only does this on Facebook. Must be their insane tracking. Gotta get a browser to work, but Brave somertimes has problems wit4h that site, so Safari has worked better in the past.

I’m about ready to delete facebook from all my devices. Only use it on my iPhone to check a few post from close friends and immediate family.. On my iPad, iPhone and iMac, I use the Firefox browser. Even browsing on this site, no lagging or stuttering when scrolling on my M1 iPad :) And no this website doesn’t drain the battery either. Well, found out my browser on my iPad does have block tracking enabled to allow some ad stuff but blocks most tracking :)

I updated this post to say both a 12.9 AND a 11 IPad Pro M1 tablet exhibit this stuttering on FACEBOOK with the browsers I have tried. Currently testing Firefox so not sure yet, as it doesnt always do the stuttering.
ANd this does NOT happen on any other site I have been to.

I wonder how it is possible that I am the only one; the odds of getting two back to back M1 IPAD PRO that that exhibit this as a problem are astronomical - but possible. I really think that it is not hardware but something about facebook that effects all browsers Works sometimes smoothly sometimes stutter. Facebook only, 3 browsers.

You are not the only one. It happens to me too. 11 inch M1, 12.9 non-M1 IPad.
