No. All new and the charger works with everything apart from my iPad Pro and the iPad Pro works with my other chargers using the same cables.

How odd, there should be absolutely no reason why it wouldn't work with your iPad Pro.
This will sound completely stupid, I know, but have you tried unlocking your iPad before connecting the power cable?

I’ve tried everything and it just doesn’t work with that charger.

The reason why I posted this is because I was reading another thread where the 29W Apple charger doesn’t work with the new Mag Safe Duo.

the 29W doesn't work with Duo, but only because its not powerful enough, it doesn't support the correct charging voltage and amperage. But it works fine charging one device, or with the normal MagSafe Charger (I use it with mine). It also works perfectly fine with the iPad Pro.

The 30W chargers however, have none of those limitations. Are you using the USB-C cable that came with your M1 Air with the iPad, or are you using another Apple, or third-party one?

So, the 30W charger works fine with other devices - so we can rule that out.
The cables work with other chargers and other devices - we can rule those out.
The iPad charges from other cables and chargers - we can rule that out.

Not leaving us much choice is it ?

I've seen stranger things happen than this, so why not. Shut down the iPad and try plugging it in, to see if it starts up automatically when the cable is connected.

I’ve done all of that. They just don’t like each other.

Very, very, weird. Annoyingly - and I have expressed my disapproval at having to wait :D I don’t get my M1 Air until Christmas.

But I’ll be keeping an eye on this thread, and in the unlikely event you don’t have a solution before then. Expect me Christmas morning :D

Is that because of stock or Santa? I ordered and collected my Air on the same day.

Santa :( Though I definitely can’t complain about it in all seriousness, it’s one of my Christmas presents from my parents - they’re a bit crazy when it comes to, well, any excuse to buy presents for myself and the wife.

I’ve been trying to talk them out of it since I was about 7, which is nearly 40 years worth of arguments over them spending too much. A few of which have even resulted in them not speaking to me for a couple of weeks.

So I’ve given up trying. Don’t get me wrong, I completely understand why they do it, and at least growing up they made sure that, while I may have been spoiled, I was anything but a spoiled brat.

Still, two weeks until birthday/Christmas, it’s not too long now :)

You’ll love the M1 Air. Enjoy it!

It great that it also runs iOS apps. Best laptop I’ve owned by far.

Happy Birthday - always feel for you guys with birthdays so close to Christmas!

Cheers, I’ve never really minded my birthday being Christmas Eve. Though I will admit, it’s a lot easier to live with these days. From 19 to 30 odds, we used to go out partying on Christmas Eve for my birthday.... Christmas Day, was not always fun :D

I have no issue using the 18w iPad Pro charger on the m1 air or the 30w (?) air charger on the pro
