Struggling to understand why you would pay £300 more for a pro over an Air (base models) for the same processor?

Better sustained performance could be one thing. But then I've never seen the point of that MBP config so I'm kinda there with you.

Pro vs Air also not clear to me. The GPU on the base Air has 7 cores vs 8 on the Pro. But if you get Air with 512 GB SSD, you get the 8-core GPU. Both Pro and Air have <only!> two Thunderbolt ports....Pro has a fan and a Touch Bar. Maybe we'll have to wait and see benchmarks but right now Pro is not very compelling....

I thought that was a typo on the 7 core GPU base model ? when I looked at the 512gb and saw it had 8 core GPU. Interesting how the home page only talks about 8 core GPU within the M1 chip

I can't go back to a non-Touch Bar model, so that makes it easy for me. (I hate using the Magic Keyboard with my iMac without the Touch Bar).
