M1 and a projector

Anyone have experience with hooking up an M1 MacBook Air to a projector to show Powerpoint presentations. What dongle is best to use (latest one from Apple?) and can you use any HDMI cable. I quess what I am asking is do the problems associated with connecting the M1 to 3rd party monitors apply to projectors?
