I was running my Mac mini M1 with Big Sur 11.1 on my old Apple Cinema 30", working as it should.
A few days ago I decided to try 11.2 beta 2. The screen would come on only to go black after 5 seconds. There was no fix for this so I reverted back to 11.1 and all is fine.

Enable screen sharing and use another Mac to see if the resolution/timing is set correctly?

Could it be an HDCP ON/OFF issue with the DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI adapter? Which adapter are you using? I have both versions of the Club 3D CAC-1510 but I don't have an M1 Mac to test.

I have all the adapters you can possible think of :) Anyway, 11.1 thumbs up, 11.2 thumbs down

These are some of the adapters I have https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...ransfers-recommendation.2278473/post-29466205
Only the StarTech and CAC-1510* do DVI dual link. Maybe you can do HDMI to DisplayPort then to DVI dual link. The CAC-1332 has a USB-C port so it might work with the CAC-1510. Otherwise, there's the CAC-1331 that can be connected to the CAC-1010. Of course, usually when you double the adapters, you usually just double the problems...

About 11.2, it's still in beta? so you can use the Feedback Assistant.app to notify Apple, then they might fix it or ignore it for a couple years.

I have used that app, doubt I'll get an answer in the near future so you're probably right 2 years

Well I have a ACD 30" and it will ONLY work with Big Sur 11.1 using 2560x1600. Updated to 11.2 and screen went black after 5 seconds. 11.2.1 or 11.3 beta did not fix the problem. Reverted back to 11.1 and all is fine...any explanation for this!?

Apple wants you to buy a new display?

Can you remote in to the machine while it’s black? What does System Profiler show under Displays?
