for comparison:

2019 16" MacBook Pro 8-Core i9
Single Core:
1118
Multi Core:
6762

Late 2019 Mac Pro 8-core Xeon
Single Core:
1024
Multi Core:
7989

So the M1 Air's score is 65% better in single core & 7% worse in multi core than the baseline 8-core Xeon Mac Pro from late-2019. Or 36% better single core & 14% better multi core than the fully loaded 8 core-i9 16" MacBook Pro from 2019.

Gotta wait for real testing next week, but these numbers are exciting. I’m in for a 13” Pro 16gb right now but thinking of switching to the Air depending on how sustained load thermals pan out.

These are impressive numbers. I wonder what the MacBook Pro will look like? Perhaps similar, but something like Cinebench would be better to judge sustained CPU performance.

Well they won't be as good but the Mini apparently has the same Geek bench scores so the M1 in the Air appears to run at full speed until things warm up.

Yes, I’d like to see Cinebench scores to see how well the Air is able to sustain performance with passive cooling vs. the Pro with a fan.
