Has anybody else experienced the issue that videos encoded with the M1 hardware encoder for h.264 will randomly be much larger than other times even when the videos are very similar and encoding is done with the exact same settings?
Never get a problem with Handbrake Videobox. 1 time i had a not to Premiere importable mp4 but it was playable. Coded with Videoencoder: H.654 (x246)Zoom and Handbrake

Because the hardware encoder is using completely different settings for example RefFramesyes, hardware encoded file size is significantly larger than software encoded.

did you work with quality or bitrate settings?
RF (software) and CQ (hardware) are also different.
