Hi,

I have seen people stating somewhere on Reddit that it is possible to run M1 Mac Mini at 120hz with the LG OLED TV even though it uses HDMI 2.0 only.

I have tried multiple HDMI cables already, and USB-C to HDMI 2.1 adapters.

Is there any way to get the 120hz running ?

TV: LG OLED55CX5LB

I've also found this thread:

But my TV lacks DP.

And this:

Thanks

Hello, I encountered the same problem as you. Have you solved it now?

HDMI 2.0 can handle 120Hz just fine, should be able to do 144hz even. Do you have HDR enabled? I work for one of the big display manufacturers, they tend to run into bandwidth issues over HDMI (and DisplayPort) with HDR/10 bit color enabled, so if you're having trouble getting above 60hz, try turning it off and see if it lets you bump up the rate. We make monitors that can 'overclock' up to 165Hz (and we have 240Hz models too), but DP cant even hit that with 10-bit color enabled, at least with our displays. Of course on a Mac you don't have a whole lot of options like you do inside the Nvidia/AMD control panels that get installed over on the Windows side..
