Hey world,

I picked up a refurbished M1 Mac mini, currently running Monterey

I can't find anywhere to enable HiDPI to try and make things look a lot more crisp. I have tried running from terminal

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist DisplayResolutionEnabled -bool true

Reboot normally allows me to turn it on, but I can't seem to get it activated. Using Third party apps like Swichrest X don't allow HiDPI to be enabled

Is it possible to enable HiDPI on m1 Macs or am I out of luck and have to wait for apple to allow this to be enabled?

Yep, got that active now. Was just wondering if anyone was able to get it going natively with out apps.
according to the linked interview with the developer of BetterDummy I think there is at the moment no other way.

Is this an Apple Thunderbolt Display (2560 x 1440) ?
I use a ghost adaptor on mine, so it look slike you either use a ghost adaptor or this app…

Yeah I am using the app, only adapter I am using is the thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter from apple.

One thing I have noticed that since the BetteryDummy app is running, I can't VNC into the Mac. I suspect its got something to do with the display mirroring that needs to be active

Ah right, to clarify I have a ghost adapter in a remote mac mini and vnc to it with the display from that remote mac mini on the thunderbolt display - sounds like this app wouldn’t be an option for me then.
