I added a AirPort Express 2 to my network to act as a base station to AirPlay my music to my stereo to get ready for lossless audio.

I set up the Airport Express to be in bridge mode and to have no wireless network. It currently is hardwired into my router.

I have found that moments after a device AirPlays to my Stereo through the AirPort Express the internet dies on my M1 Mac. DNS can not be resolved. Chrome frequently gives these error message. "NETWORK_CHANGE_DETECTED", "DNS_PROBE_NO_INTERNET".

There isn't a single thing I have found that resolves the internet connection other than rebooting. And if a device is still AirPlaying the internet will die within moments after rebooting again. Stopping the device that is AirPlaying from Air Playing does not resolve the network issues. I'm still left with nothing that works except rebooting to resolve.

No other devices are being affected. My iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, Switch, Apple TV are not having any issues with loosing internet when an other device airplays.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to what might be going on here and how to resolve it?

Edit:

Just an update.

Resetting the SMC, NVRAM and PRAM gave me some improvement. DNS no longer completely fails until reboot. Now I'm dealing with Chrome giving error pages every few links I click on when AirPlay is active. The error chrome displays is "ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED". Refreshing the page will get it to load. But the error is frequently popping up.

Sites like Instagram or Facebook will simpply fail to load more AJAX content and tell me something like "Error: Network Disconnected" or "No Internet".

For example, navigating this forum, maybe 1 and 10 threads I click on will result in the ""ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED" error page if I'm AirPlaying something from my phone to the AirPort Express.

Is there an IP conflict? Is the address of your airport conflicting with the IP address of the mac?

The IP Addresses are different. I'll keep an eye on them to see if they remain the same or are changing. So far they appear to be staying the same.

I am noticing however, that just before Chrome gives the "ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED" error the WiFi icon quickly shows an animation as if it's connecting / reconnecting to my WiFi Network.
