My M1 MBA about 11 months old now and I love it. However, I've recently noticed the battery health is rapidly starting to drop. It's dropped a 3% in the last two weeks, so it's at 97%. But that's only what system report tells me. Coconutbattery tells a different story, with the battery being at 91.3% of its design capacity

Maybe an important thing to note: I have been docking it most of the time, until a month ago when I changed my usage and I've been using it only on battery for the past month, put about 10 cycles on it. It's got 44 cycles at the moment. Is MacOS still optimising my battery for docking?

How can the battery be degrading so fast? Is it just my rather erratic usage?

Thanks in advance

Battery meters are not accurate at all so ignore them.

On my 13” 2020 Intel MBP it was saying 87% battery health for months in coconut battery and system report. But now all of a sudden my battery health is 98%???

So ignore those numbers, they are not reliable.

That percentage is only an estimation and the drop is not always linear, anything above 80% is fine. Apple often releases updates that recalibrates the battery. Make sure the optimize battery charging option is enabled and use the computer as you normally would.

For me also coconut reports 95.4% while system reports 100%
What is correct ?
Bought in march 2022 and seems like I have lost a lot of capacity according to coconut.
