I installed the PB1 Monterey on my air and everything seemed good EXCEPT: While wifi was active, my router said it was connected etc etc, no program could access the internet. Not Safari, not Mail app, not feedback assistant, nothing.

So, decided to reinstall the PB1, that started, downloaded, got to 1 minute remaining and sat there for 30 minutes. Finally said okay quit that and tried to restart and get to disk utility to erase and reinstall Big Sur and now I can't even get to the options when I hold down the power button.. It just gets to the Apple logo and the loading bar below. At this point all that happens is a restart over and over and over and over again with the same Apple logo and the loading bar going about 20%.

I suspect I need to go to the apple store and the genius bar. Any idea what will happen at this point?

Great, find me a USB device, and it must be USB3, that bypasses the entire boot process on the Macbook Air. And that same USB device has to be able to connect to my old tcMP that has USB-C. And I don't have any adaptors to use a USBC to a USB3.
Bottom line, I don't think you really understand my problem. But thanks for the tip on Configurator 2.

All you need is your USB-C white Apple charge cable. You can check my channel, I have tons of videos and articles that explain the process 🤓

If you have a brick-n-mortar Apple Store anywhere near, perhaps it's time to take it them and let them have a look at it...

BTW I updated the document about using Apple Configurator 2 on that earlier post to reflect what Apple support does. See that post. Should help you if it ever happens again. Good luck.
Thank you, MUCH more helpful. Will try that later today.

EUREKA!!! Son of a beachball it all worked!!!!! I was hesitant because what I read before your edit didn't give me warm fuzzies. Your edit was the ticket, that and remembering that the 2018 mac mini my wife uses had the proper ports on the back. My 2013 tcMP couldn't have done it without some adaptor that I don't own.
So lessons learned, do NOT put a beta on your backup computer.
I really thought it would work since I have had no issues with the Monterey PB1 on the tcMP. I have had no issues which needed reporting through the feedback assistant.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

I really like using the Configurator 2 app. It makes restore very quick. It can also be used for iPhone and iPad. :D Glad you got it working,
