Hi all!

I am writing this post since I am facing some issues with my M1 Pro 14” MBP and I was hoping some of you ran into the same issue / have an alternate solution.

I “recently” switched from an M2 Air to a M1 Pro due to the lack of support for multiple external monitors on the Air.

I have available to me an HP Docking Station USB-C G5 Essential which duplicates the two external displays mirroring them, after digging around it seems like this is down to Display Port Multistream and the fact that MacOS doesn’t really support it.

I have also tried a HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2 with Display Link technology, this solution gives me full 1440p res on the main monitor ( at 30Hz tho ) and just 1080p on the second monitor.

Here are the monitors I tried this with:

-HP Z24nq ( 1440p 60Hz ) + HP Z27n ( 1440p 75Hz )

or

- LG 27GN800 ( 1440p 144Hz ) + Philips 275E1S ( 1440p 75Hz )

If you have any recomendations for a new docking station ( I am looking to have just one cable to the MPB ) or another software solution please post them below!

Thank you for reading and replying.
