Hi, whenever I try to install any software through any type of .dmg/.pkg/etc. file on my MacBook pro running Monterey, I get all the way to the point where you're supposed to click "Install" on the bottom right corner and then it asks for password/touchid, but nothing happens. I just continue to click it and nothing happens. If I restart the computer, it'll work once, but the problem will continue again immediately after. I've ran first aid on the disk and have updated the os from 12.0 to 12.2 but it hasn't resolved anything. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated as I've never had an issue like this and am not sure what to do next. Thanks.

If you are in the installer app - you should be able to press Command-L, which shows the installer progress log.
You can view only errors, or the install progress, or all the logs that the installer app generates.
You should be able to look at those logs and verify that nothing actually is happening (and, you might also see any errors that may have stopped the installer progress)

If you get no help from the installer logs, can you try the install after booting to Safe mode? (Restart, holding the Shift key until you see the progress bar. You will have to login, even if you have your system set to login automatically. Try the install. Pass or fail, you will then need to restart normally, as safe mode prevents some parts of your system from loading.

Did your previous laptop that you transferred from to this MBP have multiple user accounts? Are you using FileVault (encryption)?
Hi, thanks so much for the reply. I've done a clean install on everything so I didn't transfer anything from my other MBP.

Trying this now. Will report back. Thanks in the meantime.
