Hey Guys,

I want to buy a Macbook pro with 32GB + 1TB SSD. The 16" M1 Max is currently on sale and has the same price as the 14" M2 Pro. I would like your opinions on what would be the better overall choice for browsing/software development/machine learning and some photo editing:

  1. 14-inch MacBook Pro: Apple M2 Pro chip with 12-core CPU and 19-core GPU/32GB/1TB SSD
  2. 16-inch MacBook Pro: Apple M1 Max chip with 10-core CPU and 32-core GPU/32 GB RAM/1TB SSD

I HUNGER
The Max uses more battery than the Pro, but the 16 has a bigger battery than the 14.
I have that 16 config with a 2TB HD and I'm a little disappointed in the battery. I can easily push it and it will need charging within the workday. But that's doing graphically intense work that involves animation. If I don't do that, it'll last far longer.

I also think for editing photos and browsing, the bigger the screen the better. But the 16 is not as portable. It's bulky with the flat edges instead of the tapered stylings of the previous model.

Yea I will use 2 external monitors while I am at home (90% of the time). So it comes down to which model runs faster and smoother.
