Guys, in general, what do you think is better choice for same price:

Mac Studio, Apple M1 Max, 10core CPU, 24core GPU, 512GB SSD

Mac mini, Apple M2 Pro 10core CPU, 16core GPU, 16GB, 512GB SSD

Mac studio

Gen older chip, but little realistic difference between the 2 generations. Max trumps pro.

Double ram and more bandwidth
More gpu cores
Better cooling
10gbe
More ports

Depends what you want but for a stable powerful workhorse that studio would be my choice over a newer lower specc’d mini.

If you need more GPU, go with the Studio, but if you don't, the M2 Pro mini is a fine machine, faster at general computing, and no whine either. (I had an M1 Max Studio, with a whine, now I have an M2 Pro Mini).

I'm lucky that way. :(
I have always had good luck with Apple devices. I hear about so many issues but I never have them. Bugs and the normal Apple nonsense aside that is. It makes me a sceptic that’s for sure - certainly when issues get overblown as they tend too.

That said there are always isolated issues when it comes to the sales or thousands or millions of any tech product.

I’m sorry to hear about your issue, I have heard such stories before - but I doubt it should be considered a negative to buying a product and therefore not always conducive to a a thread based upon such a question.
