This is a Windows benchmark for x64 CPU architecture. It won't run on M1 so no comparison possible.

https://spec.org/gwpg/gpc.data/vp13/summary.html

There is a Linux OpenGL version as well but the OP’s claim was these were Mac M1 Max scores which doesn’t make a lot of sense unless through a VM or WINE, but with no links to where they got the result from nor any descriptions on how it was run makes it of dubious provenance. Also OP’s first and only post.

The latest SPECviewperf 2020 doesn't even have a Linux options. Those engineering type software like CATIA, Solidworks, NX Siements, etc. used to target Windows and Linux but they're now trending Windows only.

Fair enough, though that none of the versions have a macOS implementation is where we agree the problem lies and where the OP got these numbers is currently unknown.

I apologize I was mislead by someone trolling another community about how the RTX Quadro 5000 in the P-Series ThinkPad are more capable than the new M1 GPU's.

So I guess this isn't legit.

Ah :(

No worries it happens

Edit: Though if it’s the one I’m thinking of the RTX Quadra/A 5000 GPUs are quite good, expensive, power hungry professional GPUs so weird that they would choose to do that. I mean that’s not even a bad marker to fall just short of if true!

I doubt Apple GPU support Nvidia Quadro equivalent features that matters to DCC/CADCAM/PLM Software.
Stuff like Hardware Overlay, Hardware accelerated Wireframe Antialiasing, Clipping Planes, etc.

Older document but here: http://download.nvidia.com/ndemand/Quadro_extranet/Presentations/Quadro_Benefits.pdf

Apple built this machines for Video Processing not CAD/CAM. They now that video content production is booming. No better place to focus.

Plus their SOCs are kings of browser benchmarks and that’s where everyone is right now.

The fact that XCode and others are M1 native just corner the mobile development segment as well.

Guess Apple is well covered
