I have an M1 Max MBP, connected to an Elgato TB3 dock, which is in turn connected to a Samsung G9 Neo 49in via a DP 1.4 to USB-C cable.
Setup 1 - With the monitor set to 120Hz (on the monitor itself), I can choose 120hz refresh rate on my Mac, but no HDR. Set at 60Hz on my Mac, I can enable HDR.
Setup 2 - If I set the monitor to 240Hz, I have no option on my Mac to select a refresh rate, though it seems really to be at 60Hz or possibly lower, but can choose HDR.
I'm aware through previous research that Macs don't seem able to display 240Hz to an external monitor, but I don't really understand this aspect of computers. How come on option 1 I can't set HDR on the 120Hz rate?
Thanks for any help / advice.
