I currently have a 2018 MBP 2.3QC 8GB 256, it only gets used for web admin, office and as the "home" for my photo library and never for things like heavy photo/video or music creation etc, etc.

I've been tempted by the new base M1 MBA model. I was just wanting to get some other people's opinion on if it's a worthwhile swap? Again it will only be used for web admin, office, etc.

Would I be able to get similar performance on those tasks from the M1 MBA? If anyone's got a few pros/cons they would be greatly appreciated.

If you have the money and want one, go for it. It'll run faster and cooler than your current MBP.

Have same specs, seems like a no brainer and relatively low cost upgrade. Taking advantage of target $100 apple gift card promotion to further lower cost & apple education discount.
