Hi,

I just got the new MBP 14" M1 Pro and if I compare it to my 'old' MBP 13" M1 system I have to say, that I'm not really exited about the 14" display.
For me it looks more yellow (when using True Tone) and it looks like it is not as bright as my old MBP 13" M1?!

Any other feedback concering the displays of those two models?

What a difference... Thought that automatic brightness is only an auto adjusting feature. But when on 100% with auto-brightness on it's totally different to 100% with auto-brightness off.

Never thought, that's the point.

Actually I want auto-brightness, but with more "power" to the brightness level.

I have noticed the same thing. Not sure why auto brightness lowers the maximum brightness level? Very frustrating.

Auto brightness takes into consideration ambient light levels.

100% max brightness should be the same if auto brightness is toggled on or off.

That's where your battery life comes from. Running the display backlight lower. Otherwise the 14" is worse than the 16" and 13" M1, just because it's powerful without a huge battery. Still love the 14" though.

Same situation with the M1 Airs vs Intel. Put them at comparable brightness and Apple's advertised battery life improvement isn’t quite what they'd like us to believe it is.

So the 16" is brighter than the 14" because of bigger battery? That would put in consideration, that I will go to Apple and want to exchange my 14" to a 16".

That's not what they said. They said that the 14 inch has a smaller battery with a high end spec range, so running it at full brightness will cause the battery life to be even worse, in-which compared to the 16" and M1 13" it is.

Automatic brightness can be annoying. I have mine disabled and I set it how I want it with the app Monitor Control since it can also control the external monitor. Problem solved.
