I need to connect my 16” M1 MBpro with my OWC Mercury Elite Pro DriveBay, that I’ve been using as a TM backup for my old 27” iMac.
I’m attaching the ports that the drive bay has. It’s an old drive bay. What would you do?

Might it better to use a cable USB-C to USB-B without using an adaptor?

if you can get an actual usb 3 usb-b-c cable, then it'd be neater, but performance wise it shouldn't be any different to just using adapter, but I suspect that most direct cables will be just usb 2 usb-b to c, as usb 3 usb b isn't nearly as common.
