Hi. I have an M1 MacBook Pro 16". I've never used the "1080p FaceTime camera" (front) for recording before, but I just tried it using Photo Booth.

The video is 1620x1080. I guess I was expecting 1920x1080. Is 1620 the maximum horizontal resolution, or does Photo Booth only go that high?

Also, audio in Photo Booth exports is monaural instead of stereo. Does the internal microphone only record in mono, or is that a Photo Booth limitation?

Are there better apps for recording from the FaceTime camera? Thanks!

Photo Booth doesn't appear to have an option to change the aspect ratio; looks like it's locked in at 3:2 (i.e. 1.5:1). So yes, you'll need different software.

And as far as audio - the microphones are located in the right speaker grille only, so with the built-in mic you'll only get mono audio.
