Need some help. Ever since I got my M1 Pro 16" (silicone) in 2021, I have had constant intermittent bluetooth issues (on every Mac OS released since 2021). Every now again (randomly) and when it feels like it, the bluetooth glitches, music goes choppy and mouse lags. I have a Logitech MX Mast 3s mouse (connected via bluetooth and not via the dongle) and Sony MX4s headphones, and a Logitech K380 keyboard. I have read up on the forums around the net and this is what I have done so far but no avail :(
  • When it goes choppy I checked the Activity app and everything is normal, no processes using excessive CPU or memory
  • Both the mouse and music go at the same time, and then sometimes it comes right, sometimes it doesnt.
  • When it does get choppy I go wired for my music and that helps the audio. The mouse sometimes glitches after that. Having a wire is painful thats why we go for premium bluetooth devices to avoid the wires.
  • When it happens I have tried turning off bluetooth, doesn't work. Have tried sudo pkill bluetoothd and that didn't help either.
Another very annoying issue and not sure if anyone else has this. When the Mac boots up it takes a while to connect the bluetooth keyboard (doesn't matter what brand, it does it on all bluetooth keyboards that I have tried) so I start typing and nothing. I need to wait 5 to 10 seconds to start typing and then it works. Then the machine logs me in and again, when I type it has to connects again and takes another 5 to 10 seconds for it to start typing. Another issue is when I login and not type anything I can leave it for 5 minutes, come back, start typing and nothing. 5 to 10 seconds later it connects and works. Why on earth would it disconnect and need to reconnect again during the login process. Does anyone else experience this and if so can you suggest a fix?

I read somewhere but cannot confirm that the M1 Pro cannot handle more than 2 bluetooth devices effectively. Hard to believe as the Mac is a premium brand. Are there any confirmations on this? Does anyone have any other guidelines I can try? Anyone with M2 and above that has this same issue?

Check for interference. Other Bluetooth devices, WI-FI networks, proximity to the access point, etc.
