Last night I plugged my M1 Pro 14" MBP in to charge before going to sleep. When I woke up, it was still at 33% and hadn't charged at all.

I unplugged the power adapter and plugged it back in. Still not charging.

I shut it down, unplugged the adapter, then plugged it back in. It automatically started up and is now charging.

This has happened a few times since I got the computer. Any idea what's happening or how to fix this?

Sometimes.

Other times I use a Thunderbolt 3 cable that is attached to my OWC Thunderbolt 3 dock. When I'm at home, I usually plug the MBP into the dock (which is connected to my external monitor and peripherals).

This usually charges the MBP just fine, but come to think of it, I believe that all of my "charging failures" have happened when the computer was plugged into the dock (rather than the supplied power adapter).

That’s why I asked, a lot of times people will talk about an issue such as this but fail to mention all the stuff the have connected, etc. and that ends up being the problem.

I guess I'll just set up my Mag-Safe charging cable in the same area and plug it into that every night. I was going for the "do it all with a single cable" simplicity, but it's no big deal to add one more!

Try taking it to Apple. Seems like the power center is dying prematurely.
