Looking at getting the M2 Air. I mainly use my machine for the usual Office stuff and Adobe applications - Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver for the most part. Not super intensive photo editing in PS - mainly web type graphics etc.

I'll probably get the 512GB HD model...my question is, will it still work well with 8GB RAM? I know ideal world I'd get the 16GB RAM...just in the current environment, things are slightly tight.

Thanks in advance.

I suppose my only caveat at this stage is the screen size. Ideally would love to go 15"...but not sure I can wait too much longer. Some are saying it might come in April...but any longer than that and it's too far away. Anyone have any intel on that?

I'm going to second @MacGizmo and say that you ought to get 16GB of RAM at the minimum, but that 24GB would be all the better. 512GB is a good idea; though, I'd still get one size larger than you think you'll need as you can't upgrade it after the fact.

The rumor mill is pointing toward an April release. But it's just rumors. Incidentally, consider the scenarios in which you'll want a larger screen. Are those scenarios largely at home? If so, just get a large external monitor to use when you are home. Problem solved.

If those scenarios are largely when at home and one other location? Then get two large external monitors! One for each location!.

Either way, odds are decent that 15-inches, while better than 13.6-inches, still won't be anywhere near as good as, say, 21.5-inches, 24-inches, or even 27-inches!

The nice thing about a smaller laptop is that you're much more likely to want to take it to more places than you would a larger laptop.
