How likely is it that apple releases an M2 iMac 24" in mid 2022? Its the perfect size but I can wait another 6 months if they are likely to give it a boost.

I am curious about the forthcoming new big iMac (27-30) in terms of specs and price. It will likely have the M1 Pro chip, but if they actually make it a Pro model and price it accordingly then it might well go out of my price range.

At that point I will be looking to the iMac 24 getting the M2 upgrade. It’s quite possible this could happen given it doesn’t seem likely the new MacBook Air having the M2, but the more expensive iMac 24 not having it.

I don't know if it's that weird, the whole range of Macs are usually refreshed separately. And I get it's more expensive than the MacBook Air but the display in the 24" iMac is worth a lot on its own. The iMac is a lot cheaper than it would be to buy a Mac mini & comparable display.

ill hold onto my 16 intel and next year buy a MacBook M2 and iMac M2 for the price of a MBP 16
