So originally with M1s the MBP had a brighter screen, better speakers, and longer battery life. How does the M2 macbook air now compare to that 2020 m1 macbook pro? I ask because I have the 13" m1 macbook pro but considering the M2 MBA. I do enjoy the MBPs battery. This is the longest I've had a laptop (few years) and I don't use it for much except as a daily driver and watching movies/tv in hotels. I travel a ton it's why I'm asking (hence my name) lol.

What I know - the 13' has 2 extra USB C ports, slightly better battery life, the active cooling, slightly better screen - I'd stick with the M1 13' MBP if it was me.

The biggest thing - screen quality. From what I've read - the MBP has a better screen but review sites say the MBA has a more vibrant screen. <shrug>

M2 MBA will have a better webcam. It's fairly pricey if you add ram.

Other than that, it isn't much of a difference performance wise with your usage.

All I've got for my $.02. :D

Edit: 13' Pro only has 2 USB-C Ports. Whoops. Thanks @chrfr

The 13” Pro has only 2 USB-C ports, one of which must be used for power, while the M2 Air adds a MagSafe power port, freeing up the USB-C ports for data.
With that said, it’s not worth the cost of switching from an M1 Pro to an M2 Air. The real world differences would be extremely minimal.

I completely forgot that, sad since I actually owned an M1 MBP 13' for a little bit, LOL. Thank you.

More ports with the MBA! Very cool.

And agreed :D
