Has anyone made this jump? What has been your experience? I see some reviews saying there is a significant difference.

I can't speak to this specifically but if your workflow is crushing an M2 Max, you might want to consider and M2 Ultra (Mac Studio or Pro) or wait for M3 Ultra. M2 Max to M3 Max is likely just a speed bump noticeable only in render times and benchmarks as the reviewers are noting. I don't know it would be all that meaningful a difference in daily use to make it worth the expenditure.

I am waiting for the M4 Ultra, My M3 Pro should last me til then.
I just need DisplayPort 2.1 out, New RayTracing Cores, WiFi 7 and Thunderbolt 5. But they may finally do a Quad Chip and Update the Mac Pro. Maybe called the M4 Titan.

Went from M2MAX 64 GB to M3MAX 128 GB - both 16". Not enough use yet to determine how much is the improvement. A video conversion using handbrake seemed significantly faster. The M3MAX does feels snappier and is very fast all around, but the M2MAX was vey fast as well.
