I thought I'd check in with the M2 owners that have had the midnight color for some time now.

How is the durability of the laptop from a wear and tear standpoint? I am not so much concerned about the fingerprints but mostly wear around the ports. Has the color worn off in any way?

Thank you.

I have some wear around the most used USB-C port and worse on the front of the keyboard palm-rest where my watch band rubs on the case. It’s not really that bad but definitely noticeable.

I’m not particularly concerned about it. I bought the MacBook to be used. It is a great computer.

Just bumping this thread to see if any midnight users had any issues. I just purchased the 15" MacBook Air in Midnight and love it, just worried about wear over time.

If you baby it, it'll be fine. From what I've seen in Apple Stores, it's friction along the edges and maybe constant rubbing against the ports that causes slight chips.

Due to the easy wear at the USB-C ports, I purchased these:

This way the connector constantly stays plugged in than I can freely connect and disconnect for my USB-C Display/Charger.

Works great!

Got it a couple days after launch. Yes, there's wear and tear around the USB ports. A little around the MagSafe port. But you only notice it when paying attention closely. Overall nothing major.
