I don’t need to go into details on how important WiFI 6e and HDMI 2.1 are. M1 just doesn’t support these features period. M2 Ultra will fix many of these issues. Heck an M2 Max MacBook Pro with 12 Cores will be that $2,999 sweet spot that makes me feel so let down by this Mac Studio.

When looking at a purchase of $2,999

M1 Mac Studio Vs M2 Max MBP a lot of people stuck with a Max Studio will be kicking themselves.

Not trying to be funny, but is WIFI 6e and HDMI 2.1 that important that a tiny powerhouse for $2k is disappointing? I can't even begin to fathom what I would do with such a machine.

Another bunch of nonsense spec sheet bla from the poster who predicted the 2017 entry level iPad wouldn’t have a headphone jack.

A lot of developers and scientists would like to buy the Mac Studio with a quad M1 Max chip/ doubled M1 Ultra chip and at least 16 TB SSD, me too. Same goes for the MacBook Pro which will hopefully have 16 TB SSD, 128 GB RAM and the new M2 Ultra chip in 2022.

I doubt they will put an "ultra" chip in the macbook pro anytime soon.

Are you a developer then? Do all developers need such powerful configurations?

$2999? Try $3999 if not more.

Developing is one part of the things that I do.
And yes.
And a MacBook Pro will be always needed.

What's the other part? How much power do you need? Is it something specific, or is it unlimited, i.e. as much as you can get?

I already own an M2 and M3. Check my sig. ;)

I'm not counting on M2 Ultra by 2023. It is possible, but if it does happen, I think the earliest you should expect it is late 2023, so 1.5 years from now. However, I'm betting on 2024.

Anyhow, what I'm really waiting for is an M1 Pro or M2 Mac mini. I don't need the extra speed.
