Does anyone play M2TS files on your Mac?
I have home movies I want to play and don't want to convert them. Just wondering if the Mac Mini can play them fine?

TBH I can't answer that as I don't have that exact format, I expect someone on here must know though.

I have several files in a slightly different format , m2p which plays fine in VLC player.

How are you currently storing / playing them?

M2TS works fine with VLC on Mac OSX.

Have never tried that format with with Plex, but should be easy to find out what format's Plex supports.

The key is use apps that utilize ffmpeg. It has the decoding algorithms for files.

Also keep in mind that although most .mt2s containers have standard A/V codecs (e.g., h.264, mpeg-2, AAC, AC3, DTS, etc.) some companies use use unusual codecs that are not supported by ffmpeg.
