M3 MacBook Pro - New Chamfered Edges Confirmed!

So I noticed the new M3 MacBook Pros have another design change compared to the M1 and M2 versions that Apple didn't announce. Chamfered edges around the ports and what appears to be a thicker chamfered edge on all edges of the laptop. With previous MacBook Pros there is a straight edge around the ports and a slight chamfer on the laptops edges.

See attached images that shows a clear chamfer around the ports and larger chamfer around the outside edges of the machine. For the pictures I am comparing my space gray M1 MacBook Pro 14" work computer compared to my personal Space Black M3 MacBook Pro 16".

Because the edges are more chamfered this should help with wear around the ports and edges of the machine, especially with the Space Black color.

I prefer the old one. That chamfered edge isn't going to look so good after a few months of use.

Its not a polished Chamfered edge so it should show less wear around the ports and sides over time compared to the more straight edge of the M1 and M2 versions.

You are comparing the chasis of a 13" device to one of the redesigned 14"... of course there will be different. Hence, I find it not interesting as we know the change is there.

No, in spite of the captions you can see the corner of an HDMI port on the M1 Mac. It's also a 14" or 16".

This is my first M-series Mac but one thing I have noticed is it definitely feels less sharp than the Intel one on the edges, especially around the wrist/palm area. So if that's the chamfer in action, then I'm all about it.

What is more noticeable are the side fan inlets, which feel a bit rougher to handle. Guess they couldn't hide them under the edges as well since it's more of a squared off design. But I like this design a lot more overall, it feels sturdy and robust and there is less flex.
