Quick post, looking to purchase a new laptop for my wife, Microcenter has the M3 Pro 14" MBP with 1TB for $1,619.99, and I can get the M4 Pro 14" MBP 1TB for $2199 from Apple EDU store.

My question is, there is enough of a price gap that I'm thinking the M3 Pro would be a better deal. My wife mainly used the laptop to browse the web, social media etc, nothing CPU/GPU intensive. She is coming from a 2017 15" MBP.

What are your thoughts? With taxes and everything the M3 Pro is almost $500 cheaper. Thanks!

Get the M3…. I can’t see any scenario where the M4 would do those tasks better

My math says about $580 but it’s Monday so I’m not firing on all cylinders 🤦‍♂️😂
