Right. Saw that. I’m coming from an M1 Pro and from looking at that site’s comparison it looks like a decent upgrade from to the m3 pro, maybe not from an m2 pro.

I don’t really do any video editing or anything. The only taxing thing I do really is BG3.

It seems to me this is the right comparison here? While the results are not mind blowing, they do seem respectable.

That is the binned M2 pro too. The multi-core performance are identical on both M2 pro and M3 pro.

The reason is presumably fewer GPU cores, fewer performance cores and lower memory bandwidth.

You do realize there are multiple M3 pros? Look at the ones available to 14 inch. For instance, there is one with only 14 GPU cores and 11 CPU cores. And another with 12 CPU, 18 GPU. So I'm assuming the weaker one is in that benchmark.

I corrected my post. Apologies for my mistake.

The M3 Pro is still 6% slower than the M2 Pro both with 12 CPU.

I see tons of high end M2 Max dump in my local Facebook market. Many enthusiastic pros are rushing into M3 Max. Soon one can get M2 Max for M3 pro price.
