M4 13 charges past 80% even with the setting turned on

i usually charge through the Magic Keyboard but used in the built in USB-c charger this time and noticed charging went over 80% to 92%. Anyone else experience that? I checked settings and it says charge to 80%

My iPhone 15 ignores the 80% limit around once per two weeks.
I attribute it to its calibration logic to keep track what 100% (and hence 80%) actually mean in mAh...
Quick websearch reveals, it is intended:

Yeah. On occasions it pushes past the 80% limit. After that it pretty much keeps to 80% for a while.
