So, I got a refurbished M4 iPad 13" from Curry's (UK) which only had 4 charge cycles completed and 100% battery but it drops a lot of charge - around 30% per 12 hrs while idle (not connected to wifi, screen off). I watched some Netflix and youtube today at medium volume and low brightness (may be 3 hrs?) and battery dropped by like 35 - 40%. I have had more life from my older ipads but they didn't have such insane processor.

While I don't think it's definitely defective, being a refurbished unit, I'm a bit circumspect. What do you guys think?

That definitely is too much battery drain if you mean with Wi-Fi disabled on the iPad. Mine loses only a couple percent overnight when idle and on Wi-Fi. Your iPad will completely drain the battery if you leave it for two or three days?

This also seems like high battery drain, but not high enough that I'd think your iPad is defective.

Its only a week old (for me) but yeah it seems like it would discharge the full battery if it's not used for 4 days.

The second part, yes, it does seemed excessive. But not huge. I will monitor the usage next week and return it if continues.

Update: I put the iPad on standby, no screen on time and from today 4 AM and now 8 pm - 16 hrs, only 2 % battery dropped.

This is insanely good compared to my older iPad.

I'll be playing a session of Battle for Wesnoth today to see how it performs during a light game.

(but it drops a lot of charge - around 30% per 12 hrs while idle) - is the screen off (sleep)? Or is the Lock Screen on continuously? If screen is OFF, and there isn’t a crazy amount of processes running in the background, then there is definitely a problem.

The screen and wifi were off. But I don't know wha happened, the battery percentage changing drastically has stopped.

I'll keep observing and report back.
