Hey guys, quick question.
I just bought a .mac account, but I have a specific domain name that I want to use (i.e. www.asdllakjs.com) Is it possible to host my files/info on the .mac account while using my own URL that I want with it?

P.S. I'd be using iWeb to publish them. Sorry about the noobness, I'm just getting started doing this...thanks!

Yes (somewhat), publish your iWeb site to .Mac as you would normally, and just have your domain redirect to your .Mac homepage.

I registered my domain name with godaddy.com. In their account section they have a tab that says "domain forwarding. I just copy-paste the url that iWeb generates in that section so whenever someone types in my domain name it brings the to my .Mac account. Very simple. Check with your domain registry.

Thanks for the help guys! But I actually just returned my .mac membership and paid for webhosting through iPower for a year...so far it's worked out alright I guess...any problems that you may forsee in using it instead of a .mac account? Thanks!

For the record, the following features are only available when publishing to .Mac
  • Enhanced slideshows
  • Hit counter
  • Password protection
  • Comments and attachments
