There's something that has me baffled. How come when I play online games like world of warcraft on my mac air the videos look just plain awesome but when I try to see a youtube video it looks soo bad its depressing??
From what i understand it has something to do with the particular coding that youtube has over other video. I'm not sure if this is limited to streaming video or if it's the coding of the video itself. Either way it would be nice if they could address the issue via a software update in addition to the rev B. On a side note I've been lucky enough to not have trouble with core shutdowns... only fan noise and warmth with extensive youtube viewing.
Bad compared to watching it on another machine? Youtube is highly compressed video, although the new widescreen format is better, it's still compressed to save space and deliver quickly.
yes, compared with my old PC the youtube video looks really bad by comparison. I mean sure youtube never looks 100% perfect but with my 1st gen mac air it looks at least twice as bad as usual.
